Before them all came the original FENDER 5C1 Champ, with just three classic look Octal valves including the 5Y3 rectifier. With a 6SJ7 Pentode preamp valve and a 6V6 output valve, this 5W amp is the perfect retro starter amp for both constructors and guitarists...... except... the original amp didn't have a circuit board and was strung together point to point with many components soldered direct to the metal chassis... which needs a seriously big soldering iron or a solder gun and isn't great for component changes and mods!
