This is a restoration service to get your CT-F9191 cassette deck back up and running. Most of the work is in the transport assembly where all new belts are installed along with repair to the idler clutch assembly and restoration of the fast wind motor along with new idler tires.

I’ve had good success at restoring these so far and you’ll get back a super performing cassette deck that will run another 30 years. I am out of heads and exterior parts (plus motors) so if yours are found defective (very rare) you’ll have to source them elsewhere.

This is a service auction for a Pioneer Spec-1 preamplifier you own. This is not an auction for an item for sale. I have been repairing Pioneer components for over 30 years now and I believe it’s time for owners of the Spec-1 preamplifier to think about a restoration. The capacitors inside the unit are over 40 years old now and in no way are they performing as new and your sound is definitely suffering because of this. All of the small electrolytic capacitors will be replaced with high quality brands like Elna Silmic, Panasonic FC, and Nichicon Muse. The larger ones on the fuse board almost never need replacing unless there are blown fuses on the board…………..in that instance they will be replaced. Most of the transistors are generally good for the life on the unit but I do replace the noisy 2SA726 ones on the tone board. There are some scenarios where the negative regulator will die and this puts DC on the output jacks and could cause your power amplifier to trip it’s protection circuits. These will definitely be replaced if they have failed. I also treat all the controls with De-Oxit D5 spray and this treatment lasts a very long time……………I’ve not found a better cleaner/lubricant. I don’t have replacements for the rotary controls or knobs so if your unit is in need of these you’ll have to source them elsewhere. Up for auction is a professional restoration service for your existing Pioneer CT-F950 cassette deck and not the unit itself. Once you pay for the auction I forward my shipping address to you and you pay $25.00 for the return shipping once the repairs are complete. Some things that can’t be repaired due to lack of parts are: defective heads, defective motors, defective fluorescent displays and broken rotary controls and missing knobs. I replace all the belts and idler and do a full alignment and I replace the majority of the electrolytic capacitors.
