Technics SL-1200 Mk2 Speed Repair Kit Capacitors Turntable Rebuild Recap Set
Up for sale here is this complete rebuild kit for the Technics SL-1200 Mk2 (or the SL-1210 Mk2) turntable. This is all the capacitors you need to replace all of the electrolytic capacitors in your turntable, plus one new transistor to replace Q1 and two zener diodes to replace D2 and D301. Leaky capacitors can damage the IC chips, so even if your turntable is working, you should still recap it. Please note that this kit is for the SL-1200 Mk2 only. It will not work on the other versions. I have a kit for the SL-1200 Mk1 (the original one) available here. If you need a new D1 bridge rectifier for your Technics, that is available here. This kit includes replacements for all 21 electrolytic capacitors on the boards, plus one transistor and two zener diodes. These are extremely high-quality parts, the same ones I use when I work on vintage stereo gear. Capacitors are Nichicon PW, Panasonic FC, Wima film, and one Supertech axial capacitor. I will include fairly basic instructions, but this is moderately complicated, and you should know what you’re doing and have a decent soldering iron. The instructions will include a link to download a free service manual, which will have instructions on how to open up your turntable. Please see my pictures for details. Vintage Original Technics SL-1200 Direct Drive Turntable(Serviced, Excellent)
The tonearm lift was removed, taken apart and cleaned with new 500,000 silicone oil applied. The only issue was the r/r tab broke off of the dustcover but still attache s I repaired it with JB weld plastic bonder.
