  • Sherwood S7310 restoration recap repair service rebuild kit filter capacitor

The scarcity of good, honest techs who can do good and reasonably priced restoration/rebuild of audio equipment inspired me to create this restoration kit. In today’s day and age, it is difficult to find a knowledgeable technician who can service your audio gear properly. I have seen many poor quality restorations of equipment that cost way too much for their owners. In 99% of the cases, only a few parts were replaced, instead of a full and proper restoration job.A proper restoration must replace all electrolytic capacitors on all boards. Do not fall for partial kits that restore just one PCB (power supply, power amp, etc.). This is not a good or proper way to restore your audio equipment. It is the same as with car tires; one should never replace just one tire and keep the other worn-out tires on. A proper rebuild requires a full recap of all PCBs.On the other hand, if one succeeds in finding a good tech, the wait time is usually 6-12 months for the unit to be serviced, and costs are sky-high. I have been servicing audio equipment for many years and have developed deep respect for all good equipment. Knowing how amazing and warm these units can sound, I decided to put together this kit. It includes very good upgrades and improvements that must be done to the unit. This restoration kit will make a huge difference in the sound quality. All the parts are of high-quality Japanese Nichicon / Rubycon / IC / United Chemi capacitors.I am extremely particular about the quality of the parts provided in this kit. Knowing how many bogus/fake caps, diodes, resistors, etc. are out there, I source all the parts from reputable wholesalers and buy them in bulk. Vintage audio equipment has the potential to deliver rich and authentic sound when it is properly restored. Not only can it enhance your listening experience, but it can also evoke memories and bring joy to your life. Let’s work together to bring your vintage gear back to its full potential, and make sure you have the music you deserve. ♩♬♫♪♫♩♬ “They Shall Have Music”- Avery FisherIncluded in this kit: 1. Power/Filter stage capacitors (Nichicon / Nippon / United Chemi) electrolytic capacitors. 2. Detailed instruction with colorful images, schematics, manuals (all of these are in electronic form, I consider these much better than printed version due to zoom availability). 3. Schematics 4. Complete audio path upgrade with high quality US made (IC) or Nippon audio grade film capacitors. 5. Parts for compete recap of all the electrolytic capacitors. 6. Complete recap of all PCBs. 7. Transistors (PNP, NPN). 8. fuse/s 9. Instructions on how to clean the chassis. 10. Instructions on how to clean a faceplate 11. Instructions on how to polish knob covers. 12. Support/help to a reasonable extend in case you need it. (This is what makes us different from other sellers.) • Sherwood S7200 Loudness Volume pot control power switch on/off replacement

NOTE we also offer FULL restoration kit —–> LINKOr search for item (eBay item number:165635763753) As an experienced vintage audio equipment service provider, I understand the challenges of finding reliable volume controls for these units. Locating a New Old Stock (NOS) potentiometer may seem like a solution, but it’s important to note that even if one succeeds in finding it, it may not be a wise choice to use it. Over time, the carbon path within the potentiometer deteriorates, meaning that even a NOS potentiometer could be in very poor condition after just a few uses. Recognizing this issue, I took it upon myself to tackle the problem. After years of searching, I decided to manufacture volume controls that were commonly used during the golden era of audio equipment. My objective was to create a high-quality replacement part that surpasses the original volume pot, and I’m proud to say that I have achieved that goal. Here are a few reasons why it’s advisable to consider purchasing our modern production potentiometer instead of attempting to repair the original: – Unmatched Potentiometer: Vintage volume controls, after 20-25 years, often suffer from carbon resistance path deterioration. These paths need to be carefully matched and balanced to ensure even sound distribution. If a volume pot is unbalanced, one speaker will sound louder than the other. Our modern production potentiometer has been meticulously designed to address this issue, guaranteeing well-balanced sound reproduction. On/off switch Flaws: Many of the original switches used in vintage units were notorious for their unreliability. Over time, more than 75% of these switches have failed, and the remaining 25% are at risk of failure. This poses potential hazards, such as receivers turning themselves on when the power switch is in the off position, which could lead to fire hazards if left unattended. – Flawed Design: Even if you manage to repair an old control, the outcome will likely be short-lived due to significant flaws in the original design itself. Our modern production potentiometer, on the other hand, has been engineered to overcome these shortcomings, ensuring both durability and consistent performance. On/Off switch specs: On/Off Switch: It can sustain up to 6A current, ensuring safe and reliable operation.Voltage: The switch supports a wide range of voltage, from 110V to 240V, making it universally compatible. As an individual with extensive experience in restoring vintage audio equipment, I can confidently assert that our modern production potentiometers are of the highest quality. They deliver exceptional results and provide well-balanced sound reproduction. If you have any inquiries or would like to purchase one of our modern production potentiometers for your unit, please feel free to contact me.
