  • Pioneer SX-1980 LED Light Bulbs SX-1250 SX-1280 4 Royal Blue Wedge Lamps

Up for sale here is this set of 4 royal (ice) blue LED wedge-lamps. These will replace the four tuning dial lights in the Pioneer SX-850, SX-950, SX-1050, SX-1250, SX-1280, and SX-1980. These are top-quality bulbs, and are the exact same ones I use when I rebuild Pioneer gear. These are top-of-the-line lights–I love using them! The royal blue LED wedge lamps will give a nice strong blue glow–if you want the lighter, softer blue, that’s cool blue, and I have those available as well. The LEDs will last forever and will run much cooler than the original incandescent bulbs, so they won’t damage the vinyl case covering the way incandescents can. I have many other colors of LED wedge lamps available, so if you want different-color wedge lamps, just let me know and I can swap them in. These are easy to install–all you need is a Philips screwdriver and a gentle touch. I have light kits for most other Pioneer gear listed, just take a look at my other listings. Please see my pictures for details. The last two pictures are of a Pioneer with these royal blue wedge LEDs installed. This listing is only for the bulbs, not the receiver. US shipping and handling is $5, and international is $18, no matter what quantity you buy. All my small parts are set up for combined shipping, so just use the “add to cart” feature and then check out all at once, and it will combine shipping. If you have any questions, please ask. • PIONEER SX-1250–REPAIR SERVICE–FULL CLEANUP AND ADJUSTMENT–PERFORMANCE CHECK

NOTICE!!!!! Please read the entire text of the listing. This is a service listing for the specific model noted. The pictures are examples and are not for sale. So you have the good fortune to have a Pioneer SX-1250. You know that the 1250 is a really great receiver, after all they have become very valuable, but yours is just not performing as well as it should. It could have overt defects, or it could just be tired…..noisy, dull sounding, hard to tune…..that sort of thing. You would really like to get it serviced, but it is all just confusing. You don’t know who should service it or what they should do. I can tell you, it should be serviced by somebody who knows the piece inside and out. That would be me, as I have worked on the 1250 since it was introduced. My company was under contract with Pioneer when these first came out. We did the in box defectives. So I know the piece very well. As far as what the approach should be……here is a good idea, get it all cleaned up and adjusted, check everything and when that is done, it is either up and going, or we are very clear on what needs to be done. So that is what this listing is all about, the non confusing approach to SX-1250 service. 1Clean it up. You can’t work on a dirty unit so the first thing to do is to blow out all the dirt, or more severe cleaning if needed. Next, the switches, controls, and tuning capacitor are carefully cleaned and deoxidized. A lot of problems are solved by thorough cleaning. 2Alignments. If the baby is electronically sound, meaning it comes up and plays, it is necessary to check power supply voltages, amplifier bias, and tuner alignment. Adjustments are made where necessary. 3Performance verification. At this point in the process, you can tell how close the unit is to spec performance. These would include amplifier power and distortion, tuner performance, and signal to noise. The unit is also inspected for any parts or conditions that are marginal or likely to fail. The final step here is to run the unit for a day or two to confirm that it plays well over time and has no intermittent issues. When all of this is complete, sometimes we are done and it can go back onto your shelf. If there are outright defects or any other recommendations, I will contact you and explain your options in detail. You may then decide how to proceed. STANDARD PACKING I pack a lot of stuff. I have good success with my packing and encourage you to do it this way. First is the bubble wrap. Use the larger bubble in 24 inch widths. Wrap the unit four times, turning it each time so you get the long way and then the short way. This gives you good overlap. Tape it tightly. It should be like a cocoon. The unit then goes into the inner box, fill voids with additional bubble wrap or peanuts. The inner box goes into the outer box with packing peanuts in between. Be sure to put in enough peanuts so the inner box will not move around in transit. Tape well, insure the package. Ship prepaid to: Circle Stereo 100 Commons Rd. Suite 7 #367 Dripping Springs, TX 78620 Note that the listing carries a shipping charge of $1.00. This is because eBay requires something in the shipping field. Actual return shipping charges will depend upon the size and weight of the box and the return postal code, and is calculated upon the return. Inner box…………24x24x12 Outer box………..30x30x16 Both boxes should be heavy duty, double corrugated is greatly preferred. The unit should be insured for $1000-1500. Your SX-1250 deserves to be back to making the music. I shall be glad to assist you with it. If you have questions about your individual 1250, send along a message. Thanks

  • 4 New 22000 uf 100v Chemi-Con Capacitors Pioneer SX-1250 Main Filter EXACT FIT

Up for sale here is this set of 4 brand new Nippon Chemi-Con 22000 uf 100v capacitors. These are drop-in replacements for the Pioneer SX-1050, SX-1080, SX-1250, SX-1280, SX-5590, SPEC 2, and SPEC 4. They fit the old clamps perfectly! These are the same capacitors I use when I am rebuilding vintage Pioneer gear. These measure 63.5mm in diameter and 118mm tall, and use screw terminals. The screws are included. These are authentic Made in USA capacitors. Please note that the screws on these are thicker than the screws on the old main caps, so you’ll need to enlarge the terminals on the receiver in order to accommodate this. You can drill out the old ring terminals and center mounting piece with a 5mm drill bit if you want, or just replace the old ring terminals, or cut the ring terminals open to make them into spade terminals. Please see my pictures for details. The current batch of capacitors I am selling has 28W32L codes on them, and the boxes are dated 2234, so these were made the 34th week of 2022. A note about installation: Main filter capacitors are usually used to provide the positive and negative rails to the amplifier section, so one of them will appear to be wired backwards (with positive to chassis ground). This is normal. Before you replace your capacitors, take some clear pictures of the wiring so you will know how to connect the new ones. If your equipment starts blowing fuses after replacing the main filter capacitors, you probably wired one backwards. US shipping and handling is $15, and international is $75. If you have any questions, please ask. Looking for more parts? I have power switches, feet, pushbuttons, top case screws, bottom screws, faceplate screws, white LED fuse lamps, blue LED fuse lamps, 6.3v bi-pin bulbs, 8v bi-pin bulbs, 12v bi-pin bulbs, wired 8v 60ma bulbs, new power cords, new main capacitors for the Marantz 1060/2230, wired Pioneer speaker plug replacements, new 630v yellow film capacitors at 38 different values, new 1200v yellow film capacitors at 15 values, a large variety of transistors for vintage stereo repair, new Wima film capacitors for stereo repair, new 250v yellow film crossover capacitors, and more. Just use “add to cart” on everything you want and then check out for combined shipping.

  • Pioneer SX-1250 rebuild restoration recap service kit repair filter capacitor

Also available LED bulb kit ———–> LINK The scarcity of good, honest techs who can do good and reasonably priced restoration/rebuild of audio equipment inspired me to create this restoration kit. In today’s day and age, it is difficult to find a knowledgeable technician who can service your audio gear properly. I have seen many poor quality restorations of equipment that cost way too much for their owners. In 99% of the cases, only a few parts were replaced, instead of a full and proper restoration job.A proper restoration must replace all electrolytic capacitors on all boards. Do not fall for partial kits that restore just one PCB (power supply, power amp, etc.). This is not a good or proper way to restore your audio equipment. It is the same as with car tires; one should never replace just one tire and keep the other worn-out tires on. A proper rebuild requires a full recap of all PCBs.On the other hand, if one succeeds in finding a good tech, the wait time is usually 6-12 months for the unit to be serviced, and costs are sky-high. I have been servicing audio equipment for many years and have developed deep respect for all good equipment. Knowing how amazing and warm these units can sound, I decided to put together this kit. It includes very good upgrades and improvements that must be done to the unit. This restoration kit will make a huge difference in the sound quality. All the parts are of high-quality Japanese Nichicon / Rubycon / IC / United Chemi capacitors.I am extremely particular about the quality of the parts provided in this kit. Knowing how many bogus/fake caps, diodes, resistors, etc. are out there, I source all the parts from reputable wholesalers and buy them in bulk. Vintage audio equipment has the potential to deliver rich and authentic sound when it is properly restored. Not only can it enhance your listening experience, but it can also evoke memories and bring joy to your life. Let’s work together to bring your vintage gear back to its full potential, and make sure you have the music you deserve. ♩♬♫♪♫♩♬ “They Shall Have Music”- Avery Fisher Included in this kit: 1. Power/Filter stage capacitors (Nichicon / Panasonic / United Chemi) electrolytic capacitors. 2. Detailed instruction with colorful images, schematics, manuals (all of these are in electronic form, I consider these much better than printed version due to zoom availability). 3. Schematics 4. Complete audio path upgrade with high quality capacitors. 5. Parts for compete recap of all the electrolytic capacitors. 6. Complete recap of all PCBs. 7. Transistors (PNP, NPN) 8. fuse/s 9. Instructions on how to clean the chassis and the glass. 10. Instructions on how to clean a faceplate 11. Instructions on how to polish knob covers. 12.
