In today’s day and age, it is difficult to find a knowledgeable technician who can service your audio gear properly. I have seen many poor quality restorations of equipment that cost way too much for their owners. In 99% of the cases, only a few parts were replaced, instead of a full and proper restoration job.A proper restoration must replace all electrolytic capacitors on all boards. Do not fall for partial kits that restore just one PCB (power supply, power amp, etc.). This is not a good or proper way to restore your audio equipment. It is the same as with car tires; one should never replace just one tire and keep the other worn-out tires on. A proper rebuild requires a full recap of all PCBs.On the other hand, if one succeeds in finding a good tech, the wait time is usually 6-12 months for the unit to be serviced, and costs are sky-high. I have been servicing audio equipment for many years and have developed deep respect for all good equipment. Knowing how amazing and warm these units can sound, I decided to put together this kit. With years I’ve developed deep respect toward Pioneer gear . It is a pity to see how many units are suffering from always failing incandescent bulbs! How much money is wasted for services to replace those incandescent bulbs over and over again! After many years of back and forth I decided to develop a perfect/exact LED replacement that has the same color temperature for the meters, indicators, lettering/paneling. Due to this I decided to develop these proper voltage bulbs. I got in touch with a manufacturer of LED bulbs and worked with them to develop this LED bulbs. I am glad to announce that I succeeded. Pioneer SX-780 Power Supply Repair Kit High-Quality Receiver Recap Set w/ Relay
Up for sale here is this power supply recap set for a Pioneer SX-780. This is all the parts you need to rebuild a Pioneer SX-780 power supply section, found at the left side of the large circuit board. Over time, the three power supply heat-sinked transistors in the SX-780 run so hot that they often desolder themselves or overheat and die, leading to a receiver that won’t come out of protection. The old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again! This kit includes all 6 capacitors, 4 transistors, 8 diodes, and a replacement relay. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are 105° Panasonic FC and Nichicon PW caps at the correct uf and the same or higher voltage ratings, the transistors are the correct OnSemi subs for the original transistors, the diodes are 1N4004s and 1N5404 diodes, and the relay is a new Omron relay. These are extremely high-quality parts, and they are what I use when I rebuild Pioneer gear. This kit is not guaranteed to fix your SX-780 if it will not come out of protection, but it will certainly help it run better, and will fix many non-working SX-780s. This kit does not include the two large main filter capacitors. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but this is mildly complicated, and you should know what you’re doing and have a decent soldering iron, as well as a little heat-sink compound.
