Sherwood S7300 restoration recap repair service rebuild kit fix filter capacitor
The scarcity of good, honest techs who can do good and reasonably priced restoration/rebuild of audio equipment inspired me to create this restoration kit. In today’s day and age, it is difficult to find a knowledgeable technician who can service your audio gear properly. I have seen many poor quality restorations of equipment that cost way too much for their owners. In 99% of the cases, only a few parts were replaced, instead of a full and proper restoration job.A proper restoration must replace all electrolytic capacitors on all boards. Do not fall for partial kits that restore just one PCB (power supply, power amp, etc.). This is not a good or proper way to restore your audio equipment. It is the same as with car tires; one should never replace just one tire and keep the other worn-out tires on. A proper rebuild requires a full recap of all PCBs.On the other hand, if one succeeds in finding a good tech, the wait time is usually 6-12 months for the unit to be serviced, and costs are sky-high. I have been servicing audio equipment for many years and have developed deep respect for all good equipment. Knowing how amazing and warm these units can sound, I decided to put together this kit. It includes very good upgrades and improvements that must be done to the unit. This restoration kit will make a huge difference in the sound quality. All the parts are of high-quality Japanese Nichicon / Rubycon / IC / United Chemi capacitors.I am extremely particular about the quality of the parts provided in this kit. Vintage Sherwood S-8300 CP 30W AM/FM Stereo Receiver 1980s READ
We were able to get sound from the unit but we had to wiggle the mute/mode button to get the volume to work properly. We are not the original owners of the item and we do not know the history. Purchase includes the receiver as shown only. The unit does have a damaged knob as shown in the photos. We are not accepting returns on this purchase. The lights on the unit were working.

Sherwood S-7100A Complete Rebuild Kit High-Quality Receiver Recap Transistors
Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for the S-7100A. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild the Sherwood S-7100A amp/power supply board, preamp/tone board, phono EQ board, and tuner board, as well as drop-in replacements for the three chassis-mount capacitors. This does not include output transistors, lights, or fuses. If you need new output transistors, the correct replacements are TIP41C and are available here. The old transistor design is not made any more, but the TIP41Cs will work great. This kit includes the following: Amp/Power Supply board: 13 capacitors (Panasonic FC, Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL)10 transistors (Fairchild/Onsemi)2 diodes Preamp/tone control board:4 capacitors (Nichicon KL)2 transistors (Onsemi) Phono EQ board: 12 capacitors (Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, Wima film) 4 transistors (Onsemi) Tuner board: 17 capacitors (Nichicon PW, Panasonic FC, Wima film) Instructions These are extremely high-quality genuine parts, and they are what I use when I rebuild vintage gear. The transistors are the correct subs for the originals, and the capacitors are the same capacitance (uf) and the same or higher voltage. The two top chassis-mount capacitors are upgraded to 2200 uf 63v Nichicon Gold Tune caps that will fit the clamp nicely. The underside chassis-mount capacitor is upgraded to a 3300 uf 100v Epcos cap that fits the clamp. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but rebuilding a receiver is moderately complicated, and you should know what you’re doing and have a decent soldering iron and a dim-bulb tester with a 40W, 60W, or 100W incandescent bulb. This kit may not fix your Sherwood, but it’s pretty likely that it will, and it will definitely help it run better. If you have a background crackle or hum, this will probably take care of it.
