The scarcity of good, honest techs who can do good and reasonably priced restoration/rebuild of audio equipment inspired me to create this restoration kit. In today’s day and age, it is difficult to find a knowledgeable technician who can service your audio gear properly. I have seen many poor quality restorations of equipment that cost way too much for their owners. In 99% of the cases, only a few parts were replaced, instead of a full and proper restoration job.A proper restoration must replace all electrolytic capacitors on all boards. Do not fall for partial kits that restore just one PCB (power supply, power amp, etc.). This is not a good or proper way to restore your audio equipment. It is the same as with car tires; one should never replace just one tire and keep the other worn-out tires on. A proper rebuild requires a full recap of all PCBs.On the other hand, if one succeeds in finding a good tech, the wait time is usually 6-12 months for the unit to be serviced, and costs are sky-high. I have been servicing audio equipment for many years and have developed deep respect for all good equipment. Knowing how amazing and warm these units can sound, I decided to put together this kit. Pioneer Light Replacement Kit w/ White LEDs Model SX-525 Receiver Lamp Bulbs
Up for sale here is this complete replacement lighting set for the Pioneer SX-525. You will receive: Six (6) snap-in warm white LED fuse lamps (for the tuning dial and meter) Five (5) wired 4mm warm white LEDs for the source lights & FM stereo light One (1) wired 8v 3mm orange LED for the tuning needle These are top-quality bulbs, and are the exact same ones I use when I rebuild Pioneer gear. These are top-of-the-line lights–I love using them! I have found that warm white LED fuse lamps look the best for the tuning dial–they give a nice clean blue glow. You will need a soldering iron, wire cutters, needlenose pliers, heat-shrink tubing (and something to heat it with), and a Philips screwdriver. Be very careful not to damage the tuning dial cord when you’re soldering! If you wrap the dial cord in aluminum foil ahead of time, that will help protect it. Replacing the tuning needle light is a bit difficult–you need to carefully pry open the little metal holder above the needle, put in the new bulb, then close up the metal holder again. The replacement tuning needle LED wires are a bit shorter than the originals, so you may need to splice the wires, then cover them with either heat-shrink tubing or electrical tape.
