When you push the play/ Fast Forward / Rewind buttons you can hear the motor spinning but the two gears that turn the cassette are not spinning. I think The belt on the inside is either broke or fell off and that’s why the gears aren’t turning the cassette.

I serviced this deck and bought a new set of belts that cost 50 delivered to ensure that they were quality and not cheap Chinese ones. I cleaned and lubricated the transport. Adjusted the speed and the azimuth and I also calibrated the frequency response for each tape type for playback and recording. The one issue it has is that the button to turn the Dolby noise reduction on does not stay engaged. When I recorded with the deck for testing and calibration I just used a book and left it next to the switch.
