The unit does play cassettes, but it is a bit tricky. Then, the button can be released and it will continue playing. I’m not sure what causes this behavior or if it is safe to continue using it this way.

Rare TEAC V-95RX Auto Reverse Cassette Tape Deck Not Working Parts Only
System won’t turn on and won’t eject tape compartment when the button is pressed. Does have a screw missing on the side and left side has cracks in it. Please be aware and study pics closely!
