  • Vintage Akai X-1800SD Reel-to-Reel 8-Track Recorder Walnut Case Super Deluxe

    This reel to reel player powers on. The spindles turn for play, rewind and forward but I couldn’t get it to actually play a tape. The 8 track doesn’t play either. It will switch tracks with the selector and all program lights work. When turned on there is a rhythmic thumping that registers on the right speaker output gauge as well as through the speakers. The cooling fan operates quietly as designed. It doesn’t include the dust cover. Please see all pictures for details and condition.
