In the demo video, I’m using the preamp with its own 20-watt-per channel built-in monitor amp, and that’s it. No external power amplifier; just a streaming module for the line level input. The C-33’s monitor amp was driving the JBL horns directly, and it sounded amazing.

Vintage Mcintosh MR80 FM Tuner with original double box – See Demo Video
Here we have a McIntosh MR80 which powers on and receives stations (tested with a 75k ohm coax antenna). The plastic bezel is loose and could be re-glued. Top cover is clean with minor marks. McIntosh double boxes are included though the serial on the box does not match the tuner serial.

MCINTOSH MC 225 STEREO TUBE AMPLIFIER
This auction is for one of my Mcintosh 225 has been electronic refurbished with replacement parts. The power supply capacitors and regulator diode replaced. Signal capacitors replaced; bias circuit replaced with new standard. Input potentiometer replaced. All the resistors were checked for value and out of spec was replaced with carbon resistor to retain the proper warm sounds. Keep in mind that replacing only the power supply can capacitors is not enough, those old diodes need to be replaced. Bumble bee capacitors in the signal path leaks and cause the sound to be muddy and need to replace also. After all the parts are replaced, you will have a clean clear sounding amp. Surf on the web to see what an original stock amp looks like inside and you can see what was done to this one. Tubes are made by Electro-Harmonix 7591 output tubes and small signal tubes and are new. The 12BH7 are US made. The chassis has been replaced with new manufacture unit. Unit sounds great and meet Mcintosh specs. I am a retired electronic engineer. I do restore myself. The MC225 was said to be the best sounding McIntosh tube amplifier ever made. While not as powerful as other Mc offering, there is enough punch to deliver warm McIntosh sound. The reason I am selling this is I need room for other collection. I still have one in my collection to enjoy. Power is 25 watts per channel into 4/8/16 ohms load in stereo. 50 watts mono if bridged. Frequency response is 18hz to 30khz. Total harmonic distortion is 0.5%. All sale is final, I ship to 48 US states only. Local pickup welcome. Tubes will be ship in a different box.
