  • Recap Kit for Dynaco A-25 Speakers New MPT Polypropylene Film Capacitors

    Up for sale here is this recap kit for a pair of Dynaco A-25 speakers (not the A-25XLs, just the A-25). This will let you completely recap two (2) Dynaco A-25 speakers. These are brand new Supertech MPT (metallized polypropylene film) capacitors, which are super-high-quality and will sound nice and clear. There are two 5 uf caps, one for each speaker. The old caps are pretty bad by this point, but these new film caps will get your speakers singing again! Please note that some Dynaco A-25 speakers will use 8 uf caps instead of 5 uf. I have replacements for those available here. Please check your speakers before you order. These are fairly easy to install as long as you know what you’re doing. You will need a decent soldering iron, solder, a Philips screwdriver, wire cutters, and a hot glue gun or rubber cement to aid in mounting the caps. Please see my pictures for details.   • Dynaco SCA-80 SCA-80Q Restoration rebuild Kit repair service fix capacitor

    The scarcity of good, honest techs who can do good and reasonably priced restoration/rebuild of audio equipment inspired me to create this restoration kit. In today’s day and age, it is difficult to find a knowledgeable technician who can service your audio gear properly. I have seen many poor quality restorations of equipment that cost way too much for their owners. In 99% of the cases, only a few parts were replaced, instead of a full and proper restoration job.A proper restoration must replace all electrolytic capacitors on all boards. Do not fall for partial kits that restore just one PCB (power supply, power amp, etc.). This is not a good or proper way to restore your audio equipment. It is the same as with car tires; one should never replace just one tire and keep the other worn-out tires on. A proper rebuild requires a full recap of all PCBs.On the other hand, if one succeeds in finding a good tech, the wait time is usually 6-12 months for the unit to be serviced, and costs are sky-high. I have been servicing audio equipment for many years and have developed deep respect for all good equipment. Knowing how amazing and warm these units can sound, I decided to put together this kit. It includes very good upgrades and improvements that must be done to the unit. This restoration kit will make a huge difference in the sound quality. By eliminating the Rectifier tube, we do not use the 5VAC Rectifier filament Power Supply in the larger PA-060, offering a modest load reduction on the Transformer. “Stacked” Power Supply Filter Design: In pairing the Power Supply Capacitors, we can provide proper High-voltage power to B+, Output Transformers, etc. while providing protection to components from 500+ volt turn-on voltages, while at the same time, we’ve increased capacitance over the stock design by 2-3X over the stock capacitance values.
