Up for sale here is this complete recap kit for a Pioneer RT-707 reel-to-reel tape deck. This includes replacements for all the electrolytic capacitors in the RT-707, including the special axial and high-voltage caps. There are seven individual bags of parts, with the kits for each board separated to make installation easier. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are 105° Panasonic FC, Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, Wima film, Panasonic film, and two Illinois capacitors at the same uf ratings and the same or higher voltage ratings. These are extremely high-quality parts, and they are what I use when I rebuild vintage gear. Obviously the RT-707 needs a lot of mechanical work for a restoration, and lots of new rubber parts, and this kit does not include any of that, just the capacitors. Replacing the capacitors is fairly easy, and I will include a basic instruction sheet that explains how capacitors are replaced, but it is not a step-by-step guide, just a general one. The RT-707 is a pretty complicated piece of equipment, so if you have not worked on vintage gear before, this is probably not what you want to start on. You should know what you’re doing and have a decent soldering iron and a dim-bulb tester with a 60W or 100W incandescent bulb. Please see my pictures for details.
