REVOX BLACK COUNTER BELT.Nagravox now stocks a range of belts and globes for all Revox tape machines.The black counter belt is used on the F36 and G36 and drives the counter idler wheel from the brake drum. The black counter belt is an item that needs replacing at least every 5 years. It gets gooey and is commonly broken or badlt stretched on most old machines. We offer a freshly manufactured new replacement belt. Please note these are not NOS – they are brand new fresh manufactured in Europe. 2nd hand or NOS belts are seriously a waste of time and money. SUGGESTIONS: There are quite a few things you can and should consider at the same time as replacing the belts. The age of your machine means it is prudent to consider a few other tasks and components particularly as you have the cover off . Replacing the counter belts is but one of the minor ones. Do consider a new pinch roller, what condition are your brake linings, lubricating the capstan motor (done from the top ), cleaning and and demagnetising your heads and whole tape path components (which should be done regularly like every 20 – 50 hours). And, are all your bulbs working? see our bulbs section for teh 2 bulbs used on all 36 series.PLEASE NOTE – The cost of posting this belt is really dear because it “should” go as a parcel (according to Australia Post if there is anything else but paper in the envelope …. hoo boy!) and further adding to the expense is ebays and Paypal’s insistence that we only use tracked services (which not available on letters ??) We used to simply pop them in an envelope and post as a letter at max $4 (international) or $1.50 local, but trying to do this at your risk on this completely normal and effective postage service is seemingly a major bureaucratic obstacle – immovable and hopelessly silly. So we are stuck with a ridiculous postage cost if you just buy a belt. Seriously, we stock and sell parts like this (belts, linings, globes, pinch rollers) as a complimentary service to our full kits and other parts. Combine postage on multiple items is the way to go. The postage on the other parts or kits you order will cover the postage for linings, belts and bulbs. A Revox machine will unlikely ever just need a belt and I am not trying to get you to buy more and more – just trying to offer an appropriate fair service really! (It does irk me I must say having to post off an $11 belt with postage cost of $23 – 27 (international) – and frankly I feel embarrassed about that. (I used to have stronger words for customers who only wbated one belt – but someone suggested I tone it down a tad – good on ya). Hope that all makes sense. Thanks for your understanding. Trimmers often become brittle and dirty as the originals are “open” track type. A ‘hidden’ handling charge does not apply to kits or tape media / accessories and some more expensive parts which are nett. To be clear – there is a refund of any ‘hidden’ handling charge of $30 which is passed as a discount when you request an invoice for multiple items as long as one of these is a kit. You MUST request a ‘combined shipping’ or ‘send an invoice for combined shipping’ to enable this. Please check on your requested final invoice that I have applied the $30 discount. This message nor ‘hidden’ fee does is absent and is not applicable on those items in our store where the above message does not appear. It is also not applicable to direct dealing past customers. Our raison d’etre is to help enthusiasts fully restore their classic audio equipment to as near original performance using our carefully considered and designed kits. We don’t really wish to cater for occasional spare part sales which, to be blunt is a hassle and time consuming and which, in most cases, is unlikely to solve likely hidden or soon to surface problems on your Revox, Studer or Nagra equipment.
