Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for the S-7100 (NOT the S-7100A, which I have a kit for here). This includes all the parts you need to rebuild the Sherwood S-7100 power supply board, 2 amp boards, preamp/tone board, phono EQ board, and tuner boards, as well as drop-in replacements for the three large capacitors under the chassis. This does not include output transistors, lights, or fuses. If you need new output transistors, the correct replacements are MJ21196G and are available here. This kit includes the following: Power Supply board: 5 capacitors (Panasonic FC, Nichicon PW, Supertech film)1 transistor (Onsemi) Amp boards: 12 capacitors (Panasonic FC, Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, Wima film) 2 transistors (Onsemi) Preamp/tone control board:4 capacitors (Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL)4 transistors (Onsemi) Phono EQ board: 10 capacitors (Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, Wima film) 4 transistors (Onsemi) Tuner boards: 17 capacitors (Nichicon PW, Wima film) 3 Chassis-mount caps: 1 Epcos 3300 uf 100v cap (fits the clamp)2 1000 uf 63v Supertech axial caps Instructions These are extremely high-quality genuine parts, and they are what I use when I rebuild vintage gear. The transistors are the correct subs for the originals, and the capacitors are the same capacitance (uf) and the same or higher voltage. The two axial chassis-mount capacitors are upgraded to 1000 uf 63v Supertech axial caps. The underside chassis-mount radial capacitor is upgraded to a 3300 uf 100v Epcos cap that fits the clamp. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but rebuilding a receiver is moderately complicated, and you should know what you’re doing and have a decent soldering iron and a dim-bulb tester with a 40W, 60W, or 100W incandescent bulb. This kit may not fix your Sherwood, but it’s pretty likely that it will, and it will definitely help it run better. If you have a background crackle or hum, this will probably take care of it.
