SAE Mark One Preamplifier Cabinet
This is an original vintage wood cabinet from a Mark One preamplifier. It’s 50+ years old and does show some wear. I give it a 7.5 out of 10 for its age. Look at the pictures carefully before purchase. I can include plastic feet and screws (not pictured) with it, however they ARE NOT original. I’d be happy to answer any questions. Returns not accepted. No PO Boxes please. Local Pickup ENCOURAGED. The measurements of the front opening: Faceplate of equipment can’t exceed 17” x 5.75”. The inner wood trim shaves off 0.5 inches in both directions or 16.5” x 5.25”. The cabinet provides 11.75” of depth when loaded with gear. The outside dimensions of the cabinet itself is: 18.5” x 13” x 7.25”.

I have seen many poor quality restorations of equipment that cost way too much to its owners.In 99% of the cases there were only few parts replaced, instead of a full and proper restoration job. On the other hand, if one succeeds in finding a good tech, a wait time is usually 6-12 months for the unit to be serviced and costs is sky-high!!! In this kit I offer parts and instructions for a full/complete restoration of your audio equipment. I have been servicing audio equipment for many years and have developed deep respect toward all good equipment. I really do think they sound amazing if properly restored. I have seen many bad quality restorations/fix jobs done to these units that made them sound cheap and very low quality. It includes very good upgrades and improvements that MUST be done to the unit. Please do your audio equipment a favor and replace the most important components that are most likely 90% dead. Power / Filter stage caps are those large silver cans mounted on top of the chassis and sometimes underneath. This restoration pack will make a huge difference in the sound quality. All the parts are of high quality Japanese Nichicon / Panasonic / IC / United Chemi capacitors. I am extremely particular about the quality of the parts provided with this kit. Knowing how many bogus/fake caps, diodes, resistors etc. out there, I source all the parts from reputable whole-sellers and buy them in bulk. The knowledge that I am going to share with you have been acquired by me over many years serving audio equipment.
