  • Pioneer SX-850 Complete Rebuild Kit High-Quality Receiver Recap Caps Transistors

Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for the Pioneer SX-850. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild a Pioneer SX-850, and includes upgraded replacement main capacitors. This does not include new lights, fuses, or any resistors (except for the bleeder resistors for the main caps). This also does not include the driver or output transistors. Correct replacement outputs are MJ21195G/MJ21196G, available here. Please don’t buy any of the fake Chinese transistors on eBay–those are counterfeit and will blow up. This kit includes replacements for all the electrolytic capacitors in the receiver, including the two main filter capacitors, which are upgraded to 18000 uf 100v Cornell-Dubilier caps. The new caps are the same diameter as the old ones so they will fit the old clamps perfectly. The kit also includes replacements for almost all the transistors on all the boards except the tuner board. Transistors frequently age worse than the capacitors, so you have to replace them when you’re doing a rebuild. The kit for the power supply includes replacement diodes and zener diodes, which are important to replace, and the protection board kit includes a new Omron relay with standoffs. You will also receive detailed instructions to help this go more easily. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. These are extremely high-quality, and they are what I use when I rebuild Pioneer equipment. Capacitors are Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, Panasonic FC, Wima film, and Cornell-Dubilier for the main filters. Transistors are Fairchild/Onsemi. Trimmers (for the amp board) are Bourns. I will include a surprisingly well-written instruction sheet, but rebuilding a receiver is fairly complicated, and you should know what you’re doing and have a decent soldering iron, heat-sink compound, and a dim-bulb tester. I have rebuilt a lot of SX-850s and 950s in the past few years–they’re really nice receivers, and aren’t too bad to work on. Please see my pictures for details. US shipping and handling is $12, and international is $28. If you have any questions, please ask. Looking for more parts? I have power switches, feet, pushbuttons, top case screws, bottom screws, faceplate screws, white LED fuse lamps, blue LED fuse lamps, 6.3v bi-pin bulbs, 8v bi-pin bulbs, 12v bi-pin bulbs, wired 8v 60ma bulbs, new power cords, new main capacitors for the Marantz 1060/2230, wired Pioneer speaker plug replacements, new 630v yellow film capacitors at 30 different values, a large variety of transistors for vintage stereo repair, new 250v yellow film crossover capacitors, and more. • Vintage Pioneer Stereo Receiver SX-850 Works Made in Japan

See video. Exterior shows wear typical of a well used 50 year old receiver with scuffs and scratches on top on the wood and general wear and aging to the face. Lights all appear to work. FM was untested as I don’t have an FM antenna.
