I got this used and don’t know how to operate it. It powers on, lights up and the wheel on the right functions when the arm is moved. SEE VIDEO. Wood coming off on one corner. I do not know how to fully test playback or recording, so it is being sold AS-IS with no returns.

This is a working TEAC A-5300 Open Reel Tape Recorder. Machine forward play works – but the reverse play is weak. The tape FWD advance works, but the REW tape advance is weak. The high low speed button is a little sticky and the headphone jack is only playing in one channel (both may need de-ox spray).

These were made by Akai and will work in many Akai, and other Roberts recorders as well. they work great. All the hardware is there. Super nice pair, face is not burnt, NO ISSUES. They serve the purpose of the dial light, and show the amplifier output, and look very cool.
