These early Kans have consecutive serial numbers- 04865 and 04866. In the late 1970s, the Chartwell Company (a maker of the BBC LS3/5a) went out of business and sold it's remaining stock of LS3/5a parts to Linn. Linn decided to make their own version of the LS3/5a called the Kan. For several years, Kans were assembled in New York by a small company called Isobarik. The speakers in this listing are from this time. Overall, they are in very nice vintage condition. The cabinets look good but are a bit dry and could use some oil. The grill cloth is free of tears and snags. On one cabinet, the cloth has some minor discoloration that can be removed with some effort and patience. See photos for details.
