In fact, the only reason I know they’re U.S.-made, with an approximate year, is from having handled thousands of speaker drivers over the decades! U.S.-made drivers typically have a EIA-format source/date code that’s easy to decipher or, at a minimum, you know what speakers you pulled the subject drivers from.
