The LEDs will last forever and will run much cooler than the original incandescent bulbs, so they won’t damage the vinyl case covering the way incandescents can. New Replacement Switch Pioneer SX-1250 SX-1050 30hz 8khz Filter for AWM-089
Up for sale here is this brand new 18-pin pushbutton switch. This will work great to replace pretty much all of the old 18-pin pushbutton switches in the 1970s Pioneer receivers. It will replace the multipath and muting switches in the Pioneer SX-1050 and SX-1250 (and SX-5580/SX-5590). It is the same dimensions as the old switches and will fit nicely into the board and into the metal frame. Cleaning your old switches is a waste of time if you can just replace them. This is a normal pushbutton switch–you push it once, it goes in and stays in, you push it again and it pops out. To install this, just bend the tabs in the old metal mount, remove the old switch, put in the new switch, bend the tabs to hold it in place, then solder all the wires. Pioneer SX-1050 Complete Rebuild Kit High-Quality Receiver Recap W/ Transistors
Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for the Pioneer SX-1050. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild a Pioneer SX-1050, and includes the correct size replacement main capacitors. This does not include new lights, fuses, or any resistors. This also does not include the driver or output transistors. Correct replacement outputs are MJ21195G/MJ21196G, available here. Please don’t buy any of the fake Chinese “Sanken” transistors on eBay–those are counterfeit and will blow up. This kit includes replacements for all the electrolytic capacitors in the receiver, including the two main filter capacitors, which are replaced with Chemi-Con 22000 uf 100v caps. The new caps are the same diameter as the old ones so they will fit the old clamps perfectly. The kit also includes replacements for almost all the transistors on all the boards except the tuner board. Transistors frequently age worse than the capacitors, so you have to replace them when you’re doing a rebuild. The kit for the power supply includes replacement diodes and zener diodes, which are important to replace, and the protection board kit includes a new Omron relay. A new Omron LY-2-DC48 relay is included to replace the chassis-mount soft-start relay. It does not have the bottom flanges that the old relay has–you will need to remove the old relay from its plastic case, remove the new relay from its case, and then put the new relay in the old relay’s case. It’s actually surprisingly easy. You will also receive detailed instructions to help everything go more easily. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts, the same ones I use when I rebuild Pioneer equipment. Capacitors are Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, Nichicon VY, Panasonic FC, Wima film, and Chemi-Con for the main filters. Transistors are Fairchild/Onsemi. Trimmers (for the amp board) are Bourns. I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but rebuilding a receiver is fairly complicated, and you should know what you’re doing and have a decent soldering iron, heat-sink compound, and a dim-bulb tester. The new main caps use screws that are slightly thicker than the old ones, so you’ll need to enlarge the terminals on the receiver in order to accommodate this. You can drill out the old ring terminals and center mounting piece with a 5mm drill bit if you want, or just replace the old ring terminals, or cut the ring terminals open to make them into spade terminals. I have rebuilt a lot of SX-950s and 1050s in the past few years–they’re really nice receivers, and aren’t too bad to work on. Please see my pictures for details. Pioneer SX-1050 Preamp Boards Rebuild Kit AWG-040 & AWG-041 Recap & Repair Kit
Up for sale here is this preamplifier boards rebuild set for a Pioneer SX-1050. This is all the parts you need to rebuild the four preamp boards in the Pioneer SX-1050–the AWM-089 filter amp board, AWG-040 flat amp board, the AWG-041 tone amp board, and the AWS-094 switch assembly board (only one cap on that board). Over time the preamp boards start developing issues with transistors and capacitors. The old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again! This kit includes all 47 capacitors and all 12 transistors. It does NOT include replacements for the 2SK30 FETs, which don’t need to be replaced unless they’re malfunctioning. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, and Wima film caps at the correct uf and the same or higher voltage ratings, and the transistors are new Fairchild/Onsemi and are the correct subs for the original transistors/diodes. These are not cheap Made in China parts, they are extremely high-quality and they are what I use when I rebuild Pioneer gear. Frankly, “recapping” is a waste of time if you’re not going to replace the transistors as well. A lot of times the transistors age worse than the caps, so you should definitely change out the transistors while you’re in there. If you have a crackle on one or both channels that goes away when you pull out the rear preamp jumpers, it’s probably a bad preamp transistor. I will include a surprisingly well-written instruction sheet, but this is a pretty complicated repair, so if you don’t have much experience with this, buy the kit and take it to a professional. You should definitely have a fair amount of soldering experience and have a decent soldering iron and a dim-bulb tester with 100W bulb, as well as the usual tools. Please see my pictures for details. I have been servicing Pioneer units for a while. With years I’ve developed deep respect toward Pioneer gear . It is a pity to see how many units are suffering from always failing incandescent bulbs!
