In today’s day and age, it is difficult to find a knowledgeable technician who can service your audio gear properly. I have seen many poor quality restorations of equipment that cost way too much for their owners. In 99% of the cases, only a few parts were replaced, instead of a full and proper restoration job.A proper restoration must replace all electrolytic capacitors on all boards. Do not fall for partial kits that restore just one PCB (power supply, power amp, etc.). This is not a good or proper way to restore your audio equipment. It is the same as with car tires; one should never replace just one tire and keep the other worn-out tires on. A proper rebuild requires a full recap of all PCBs.On the other hand, if one succeeds in finding a good tech, the wait time is usually 6-12 months for the unit to be serviced, and costs are sky-high. I have been servicing audio equipment for many years and have developed deep respect for all good equipment. Knowing how amazing and warm these units can sound, I decided to put together this kit. It includes very good upgrades and improvements that must be done to the unit. This restoration kit will make a huge difference in the sound quality. 2 New 12000 uf 63v Chemi-Con Capacitors McIntosh MAC1900 MA-6100 EXACT FIT
Up for sale here is this set of 2 brand new Chemi-Con 12000 uf 63v capacitors. These are drop-in replacements for the McIntosh MAC1900, MA-6100, and more. The terminals are the same distance apart, so they bolt in perfectly! These are the same capacitors I use when I am rebuilding vintage McIntosh gear. These measure 51mm in diameter and 49mm tall, and use screw terminals, which are 22mm apart, center-to-center. The screws are included. These are authentic Made in USA capacitors, manufactured in 2023. These are the same diameter as the old caps, but are a bit shorter in height. They will fit through the holes perfectly and are a perfect fit for the MAC1900 and MA-6100, and may work for other equipment as well. Please see my pictures for details. A note about installation: Main filter capacitors are usually used to provide the positive and negative rails to the amplifier section, so one of them will appear to be wired backwards (with positive to chassis ground). This is normal. Before you replace your capacitors, take some clear pictures of the wiring so you will know how to connect the new ones. If your equipment starts blowing fuses after replacing the main filter capacitors, you probably wired one backwards. US shipping and handling is $8, and international is $28.
