Brass dampens the vibration that comes through the Capstan motor transport. A huge benefit. Even though brass changes color if not plated, you can take a piece of sandpaper and make it look new. The change is only superficial. Aluminum corrodes faster, bubbles and becomes a white powder which can’t easily be restored. The oxide goes deep into the surface with aluminum, unlike the brass. A reason manufacturers may not use brass is that it’s very expensive, 4x to 5x more expensive. Our standard is USPS Priority Mail which takes 1-4 business days. Once ordered, there is a 2-3 business day handling time for most parts to leave our facility (unless otherwise notified).
