Up for sale here is this rebuild kit for the Sansui 5000A receiver. This includes all the parts you need to rebuild a Sansui 5000A, and includes the correct size replacement main filter capacitors. This does not include new lights or fuses. This also does not include the driver or output transistors. Correct replacement outputs are four MJ21196G, available here. Please don’t buy any of the Chinese transistors on eBay–those are counterfeit and may blow up. This kit includes replacements for all the electrolytic capacitors in the receiver, including the four large chassis-mount capacitors, which are replaced with new Epcos 3300 uf 100v caps. The new caps are the same diameter as the old ones so they will fit the old clamps perfectly. The kit also includes replacements for almost all the transistors on all the boards except the tuner board. Transistors frequently age worse than the capacitors, so you have to replace them when you’re doing a rebuild. Replacements for the driver board trimmers and a number of diodes are also included. There are two different versions of driver boards in the 5000A–some have the older F-1040 boards and some have the newer F-6013 boards. This kit comes with parts to rebuild the F-6013 boards by default, but I can swap those out for the parts to completely rebuild the F-1040 boards if you have those, just let me know. These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts, the same ones I use when I rebuild vintage equipment. Capacitors are Nichicon PW, Nichicon Muse, Panasonic FC, Wima film, and Epcos for the chassis-mount caps. Transistors and diodes are Fairchild/Onsemi. This kit includes a total of 115 parts. The parts for each board are individually bagged for ease of installation, and the instructions will tell you how the transistors and diodes go in, but there are a LOT of parts to replace here, so if you do not have a lot of experience with vintage gear I would not recommend starting with this one. You should know what you’re doing and have a decent soldering iron, heat-sink compound, and a dim-bulb tester with 60W or 100W incandescent bulb. I would recommend a a desoldering gun such as a Hakko FR-301, but it’s not absolutely necessary. Please see my pictures for details. US shipping and handling is $10, and international is $28.
