These allow you to upgrade and modernize your vintage unit’s outdated blade style terminals to banana plugs that also support duplex connectors. Ring terminals are INCLUDED with this kit! Simply select the number of plates your model calls for. Our kits are guaranteed ONLY for models that are provided in this listing. This kit MAY fit other models or brands, however, we have developed, tested, and properly fitted and verified this part only on the models listed. Ring terminals are INCLUDED with this kit. NOTE: By purchasing this product, you understand that the installation of this part does require certain skills and competency using tools and a soldering iron. If you are not comfortable doing this work yourself, take it to an electronics service shop and they should be able to do the work for you. INSTALLATION NOTES:You will need some basic tools/materials, such as a Philips screwdriver, wire cutters/strippers, soldering iron/solder, etc. These items are not included.There is plenty of slack in the existing internal speaker wires to re-attach to the new plate, but still snip off the wires as close to the plate terminal as possible to make sure you” don’t cut yourself short”.Keep the wiring orientation exactly as it was with the originals. (Take pictures of the existing wires for reference before you begin.)For best connectivity, we recommend soldering the wires to the ring terminals.WARNING: DO NOT overheat the ring terminals. Nothing more than a normal 40W soldering iron should be used and even so, make sure you are proficient in the right procedure for soldering wires onto terminals such as these. If the screw terminals get too hot, it could melt the plate and/or bushings of the terminals and cause the terminal to come loose. (This can be corrected by tightening down the nut on the back of the plate, but it becomes more difficult to do so when wires are attached.)The original panel used machine screws with an embedded threaded nut. You can use the original screws to affix these plates to your unit. The mounting holes were made intentionally tight to ensure a secure hold once you get it started.DISCLAIMER: Pioneer and any other vintage audio products, contain aged components and wiring. As a result, you need to take care while working on this unit. It is not uncommon for parts or wires to crack, snap, or break off while trying to manipulate any part of the unit after 40+ years of age. I’ve also developed my own line of hard-to-find, vintage part reproductions using 3D CAD design and printing technology. PricingWe are a business, and we work very hard to ensure that each unit or product we sell is ready for a new owner and able to last. Our prices will likely be a bit higher than some of what you may see from other sellers or websites. Our pricing reflects the cost of the unit, the cost of parts required, and the amount of labor required to service the unit. Typically our products also come with a warranty, and if so, it will be stated in the listing. As we price each unit, we also have to take into consideration the fees that eBay takes from each sale. As we grow, we are slowly introducing a store on our website to cut the cost of these fees. ShippingAll paid for items will typically ship within one to two (1-2) business days, however, it could be up to five (5) business days in the event of unforeseen circumstances or anything else that prevents us from getting it out in our typical 1-2 day time frame.All items we charge shipping costs are priced accordingly based on the actual shipping cost, materials required to ensure the item is safe during transit, and the fact that eBay charges additional shipping fees as well.
